Assistive Technology
There is a wide range of assistive technology available in the market – from wheelchairs to communication devices, vehicle modifications to accessible keyboards, home modification to bathchairs, the range of options can be overwhelming. CPEC’s experience lies in supporting you through the entire process, beginning with working with you to understand your individual needs, discussing options that will suit your lifestyle and needs, facilitating trials of equipment, lodging funding applications and assisting the final fitting of the equipment.
CPEC therapists love helping to create solutions that will work effectively in your day-to-day life and all of our preferred providers have a similar problem solving, collaborative approach. Best of all, CPEC’s up to date equipment library means that you may be able to loan an item and see how it works in your home.
CPEC’s specialised equipment library is available to families accessing CPEC services. The library includes assistive technologies such as switches, equipment for seating, standing, walking, shower chairs and bath chairs.
The equipment library enables families, in consultation with their team, to trial a range of specialised equipment prior to purchasing their own. These equipment items also provide support for families while waiting for their own to be supplied. CPEC has strong relationships with all major paediatric equipment suppliers.
Please note, equipment is for CPEC participants only.
