Sunday 14 October
CPEC will once again be the official charity of the Melbourne Marathon. Not only is this an iconic Melbourne event that 25,000 people participate in, it is our major fundraiser for the year.
Whilst we are the official charity, we receive no part of any runner or walker’s registration fee, so it doesn’t matter how many people walk or run for us, it is the fundraising and volunteer efforts that count for us.
All volunteering roles, both pre-race and on race day, will be in or around the MCG.
As part of our charity obligations we have to supply over 300 volunteers to run the event on the day. If you, your friends, your workmates or your family won’t be able to fundraise for CPEC this year then why not ask them to volunteer instead?
We have jobs before and during the event to suit everyone, including those who need to be seated. None of the volunteering jobs require lifting or any degree of fitness. We can also cater for large groups and keep them together, so if you have a workplace where people donate their time to worthy causes, why not let them know about our event?
We need people to volunteer to help give out showbags and race packs over 11-14 October (Wednesday to Saturday). If you or anyone your know can help on any or all of these days, please ask them to register. Retired people and students who have days off often prefer to help on these days than on the Sunday of the event!
There are jobs with various start and finish times, indoors or outdoors, some seated or some moving about. There is something for everyone!
