2020 Melbourne Marathon – Sunday 4th October 2020
The Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) will once again be the premier charity of the Melbourne Marathon. The Melbourne Marathon is an iconic Melbourne event that hosts over 37,000 participants running the full and half marathon, 10km, 5km and 3km distances. The event is our major fundraiser for the year.
During the event, we need FUNDRAISERS and VOLUNTEERS.
Whilst we are the official charity, we receive no part of any runner or walkers registration fee, which is why the fundraising and volunteer efforts count for us.
Volunteer at the Melbourne Marathon
As the premier charity of the Melbourne Marathon we receive donations through providing volunteers for the event and this year we will be looking for over 400 fabulous people who will help us during the Marathon Festival. We have jobs for everyone including areas where you could sit, and if you can’t make it on Race Day we have jobs during the lead up of the event too.
What is involved?
We have jobs suited to everyone, including those who need to be seated. None of the volunteering jobs require lifting or any degree of fitness. We can also cater for large groups and keep them together.
Volunteering before the Marathon (30th September– 3rd October)?
Leading up to race day we have jobs that involve participants collecting their race day materials. This will involve giving out race bibs or gifts to runners.
Volunteering on the day of the Marathon (4th October)?
On Race Day we have a number of jobs with various start and finish times. There are both indoor and outdoor jobs, some seated and some moving about. There is something for everyone!
Please note that all jobs on Race Day require an early start, varying between 4:45am and 7:30am.
Applications are now open to volunteer at the 2020 Melbourne Marathon.
