School Support Services

As each child nears the end of their Early Intervention years, CPEC provides excellent transition to school services. We work closely with new schools to ensure staff are confident in understanding and supporting their new students. Prior to the start of the new school year, we also suggest any building modifications needed to ensure students will be able to navigate around their new environments safely and easily. CPEC also offers this service as students transition from primary to secondary education.

Our occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech pathologists are available to visit schools to assist the children and school staff with curriculum adjustments, inclusion strategies, learning techniques, and environment modifications. We give students opportunities to develop crucial life skills and learn alongside their peers, many of whom do not have disabilities and can benefit from getting to know children who do.

CPEC also offers ongoing support to children, and young adults in our on-site and telehealth extended education group programs. These groups are held after school hours. They are an opportunity for students to further develop their fitness, wellbeing, communication, community access skills and life skills.
