Claire Cotter

Secretary

Working her entire career with children and young people and families living with cerebral palsy, Claire, along with physiotherapist, Lynn Carter and speech pathologist, Gayle Porter, founded CPEC in 1998. All three therapists had previously worked as a team in the Spastic Society of Victoria for 11 years.

As a qualified OT and Honorary Conductive Education Fellow, Claire has built CPEC from a staff of three part time therapists servicing 20 families to what it is today. Claire remains passionate about providing families and children the highest quality supports in a timely manner.

A vital part of enabling people with cerebral palsy to actively participate in their daily life and communities is building the capacity of families and communities. Claire leads and promotes the development of a wide range of educational resources which support this goal. She lectures on inclusive practices in education, teaching movements for access to communication and technology and building active participation in daily life.

To recharge, Claire enjoys time on the water, snorkelling, swimming, kayaking and more recently caravanning. Otherwise, as one of the most social members of staff, you may find her spending time with family and friends or out walking her dog Bonnie.
