We are thrilled that the Cerebral Palsy Education Centre (CPEC) will once again be the official charity for the 2020 Melbourne Marathon Festival! The Melbourne Marathon is an iconic event that hosts over 37,000 participants across the 5 distances. CPEC has been part of the Melbourne Marathon for 13 years now, providing the majority of the volunteers that help runners in and around the MCG.
We love being part of this iconic event as it not only helps raise much needed funds for our centre through fundraising, but also gives our children and families a great sense of community and achievement by being involved. Given the many challenges our children face, being able to participate in a physical challenge like the Melbourne Marathon is truly inspirational!
The event is our major fundraiser for the year and during the event we need FUNDRAISERS and VOLUNTEERS. Whilst we are the official charity, we receive no part of any runner or walkers registration fee, which is why the fundraising and volunteer efforts count for us.
If you would like to help make a difference to the children and families at CPEC by participating in the Marathon and raising money, simply:
If you can’t run, you can still support us by volunteering on the day. As part of our role as premier charity, each year we need to provide over 400 volunteers to work during the Marathon Festival. There are lots of different roles, no experience is necessary, and it is a great way to help out whilst being involved. We can provide certificates of appreciation for work experience etc. Click here for more information and to sign up to volunteer.
