Shannon
Speech Pathologist
Shannon was inspired to become a paediatric Speech Pathologist after her experiences as a basketball coach and caring for children fostered by her extended family. Shannon began her career working in private practice and at the Department of Education and Training in the Student Supports Services team. Shannon obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science and Master of Speech Pathology from La Trobe University.
Shannon’s passion is supporting individuals with complex trauma backgrounds and working with complex care teams. Her favourite part of working at CPEC is building strong connections with families and working closely with other professionals in CPEC's transdisciplinary team. Shannon’s sessions are always fun and creative, and she especially enjoys working with children to support them to expand on their pretend play skills.
Shannon is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and has completed her Introduction to PODD workshop and Complex Care Teams training. She is a PROMPT Trained therapist and has also completed training in the administration of the ROCC (Roadmap of Communicative Competence) Assessment Tool.
When Shannon isn’t at CPEC, she enjoys spending time at her family farm, looking after animals and reading. Her colleagues are grateful for the steady supply of fresh eggs!
